It was a very exciting match on the second day of the Indian Premier League. The Delhi Capitals team started the tournament with a win by defeating Kings XI Punjab in the Super Over. Batting first, the Delhi team scored a 157 for 8 wickets with the help of Marcus Stoinis’ Atishi half-century. Punjab scored 157 for 8 wickets basis on Mayank Agarwal’s 89-run innings and the match was tied.

The winner was decided by a super over. For Delhi, Kagiso Rabada made Punjab an all-out for 2 runs (the team is considered all-out when two batsmen are dismissed in the Super Over). Captain KL Rahul, who came to bat for Punjab, was dismissed by scoring two runs while Glenn Maxwell could not open the account. Delhi scored the target on the third ball without losing a wicket.

Punjab’s innings, Maxwell did not work

Punjab captain KL Rahul tried to get off to a good start and shared a 30-run partnership with Mayank for the first wicket, but he was bowled out for 21 by Mohit Sharma. Initially playing a slow innings, Mayank Agarwal made a comeback to the Punjab team by playing 89 runs off 60 balls. In this innings he hit 7 fours and 4 sixes. The match was tied only after Mayank was dismissed and the team lost in the Super Over.

Delhi’s batting, Dhawan and Prithvi’s flop show, Marcus’s half-century

Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw opened the innings for Delhi. Dhawan’s mistake led to the first blow to the team. After shooting the shot, Dhawan ran forward but Prithvi sent him back. KL Rahul dismissed him at zero before returning to the crease. After this, in an attempt to play the big shot, Prithvi also caught Chris Jordan on the score of 5 runs. The team suffered a third blow as Shimron Hetmyer. Shami got this batsman caught by Mayank Agarwal for 7 runs.

Rishabh Pant, the middle-order batsman of the team, played a good innings of 31 runs off 29 balls, but his innings was ended by Ravi Vishnoi, while captain Shreyas was also in rhythm, but he got a mo on 39 runs. Shami dismissed. Marcus Stoinis played a brilliant innings of 53 runs, while Akshar Patel contributed 6 and R Ashwin contributed 4 runs. Mohammad from Punjab Shami took three, Sheldon Cortrell took two while Ravi Bishnoi took one wicket.

Chris Gayle did not get place

The explosive Chris Gayle has not been included in the playing eleven in the Punjab team. Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, who returned from England playing the series, has been named in the squad. The Delhi team named Australia all-rounder Marcus Stoinis in the playing eleven.
