National Postal Day

National Postal Day is celebrated in India on 10 October annually. The day is observed to remember the duty played by the Indian postal department for the past 150 years. Indian postal celebrated as an extension of World Post Day, which is celebrated on 9 October.
Writing letters was most important form of communication before the introduction of e-mails and also online messaging. The mailing services were introduced in India by the British Government.

The second figure denotes the sub-region. The 3rd digit notes the area. The last three digits reveal the post office under which a particular address drops.

National Postal Week

National Postal Week is being observed from 9 to 15 October annually. Every year on 9th October the World Post Day celebrates on the anniversary of Universal Postal Union establishment date.

World Post Day

Every year on 9 October World Post Day is commemorated as the anniversary of the establishment of the Universal Postal Union in 1874 in the Swiss funding, Bern. In 1969, the UPU Congress in Tokyo, Japan. Since then, countries across the world commemorate World Post Day. The major aim of this day is to bring awareness about the duty of Post’s in the day-to-day lives of services and also people as well as likewise add to worldwide social and also economic growth.
