Trump recently briefed at the White House that his administration had received intelligence that Iran was planning to attack.

Washington, AP. President Donald Trump has said that Iran should be prepared for strict action by the US if Iran or Iranian-backed groups attack US forces or assets in Iraq. On January 3, an air strike was carried out by the US at Baghdad Airport, in which Iranian General Qasim Suleimani was killed. Since then, tensions between the US and Iran have increased.

Trump recently briefed at the White House that his administration had received intelligence that Iran was planning to attack. However, additional details were not provided. Iran has been blamed for rocket attacks targeting US troops present in Iraqi military bases. In a span of one week, three separate attacks caused a furore at Camp Taji and Basmaya. Three coalition soldiers, including two Americans, were killed and some were injured.

Will have to pay a heavy price

Earlier in the day, Trump tweeted, ‘It has been reported that Iran or its supporters are planning a cunning attack on US troops and or property in Iraq. If that happens, Iran will pay a very heavy price, indeed! ‘ Let Trump tell that Iran withdrew from the nuclear deal in 2018 and continued to reduce or increase US sanctions on Iran.

Last week, the administration imposed new sanctions on 20 Iranians and backed the Shia militia in Iraq to hold companies responsible for the attacks on the bases where US forces are located. Currently, there are approximately 7,500 coalition troops in Iraq who are assisting and training their Iraqi security counterparts to fight the Islamic State group.

Recently, the US decided to further increase its sanctions on Iran. US Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Morgan Ortegus said Iran would never be allowed to possess nuclear weapons. They reported that the US is renewing 4 nuclear sanctions on Iran for an additional 60 days. We will closely monitor the development of Iran’s nuclear program and can adjust these sanctions at any time. He also mentioned Trump during that time and said that Iran would never be allowed to possess nuclear weapons, as President Donald Trump said. For this, such steps are necessary.

Morgan Ortegas said in its statement that Iran’s nuclear activities would not be accepted. As President Trump said at the beginning of the year that Iran cannot accept nuclear weapons, it is a question of peace and security of the world.

After this decision of the Trump administration, non-proliferation work can be continued in the Arak Heavy-Water Research Reactor, Bushehar Nuclear Power Plant, Tehran Research Reactor and other nuclear projects. The statement said that we will keep an eye on Iran’s nuclear program and can abolish these restrictions anytime.
