Oracle won the bidding battle for the UNITED STATE operations of TikTok, beating out Microsoft Corp. ByteDance not selling TikTok’s US operations to Microsoft. The deal, which was confirm on Sunday. As per Microsoft, they are confident about their proposal that benefited TikTok’s users. while safeguarding national safety and security interests.

It’s not clear exactly what happen to TikTok in the US now that Microsoft has been unsuccessful in its bid. Oracle appears like most likely applicant. They may provide more services with direct control. Nothing has been basic with this continuous TikTok saga. So it’s reasonable to expect some more twists and turns in the coming days and weeks.

The video app burst into popular culture in the past couple of years. It becoming latest social-media upstarts to offer a credible rival to U.S. giants like Facebook and Snapchat. The app, provides users the capability to create short videos matched to sound or music. It has already created its own generation of celebrities and countless dance trends.

On Aug. 6, Trump executed a order prohibiting U.S. companies from working with ByteDance. Allegation that the app causes risks that are equal to a “national emergency.”

The order mentions that the app, which has been download and install 175 million times in the UNITED STATE. It records “vast swaths” of related information and “threatens to allow” Chinese government officials to track Americans.

TikTok continuously refused those allegations. They said its U.S. user data saved in the UNITED STATE and a backup exists in Singapore. They claimed its data centers are locate outside of China, which isn’t subject to Chinese authority.
