Several areas have been raining in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka since this morning. Mangalore city in Karnataka and parts of Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram have been raining since morning. This is believed to be the effect of Amphan. In such a situation, the Indian Meteorological Department has issued a warning of rain for the next 4 days due to severe cyclonic storms. During this period fishermen have been advised not to move in the southern Bay of Bengal during the next 24 hours, the Central Bay of Bengal from 17–18 May, and the northern Bay of Bengal during 18–20 May 2020.

Around 50 boats of fishermen were damaged in Rameswaram due to thunderstorms and rains in parts of the state last night in Tamil Nadu. In such a situation, many fishermen have requested the government to help. Explain that cyclone ‘Amphon’ is becoming increasingly powerful. In view of this, a total of 17 teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF, National Disaster Response Force) have been sent to both the states. The National Disaster Management Committee is also constantly reviewing the situation.

Please tell that this year, the Meteorological Department has estimated that the southwest monsoon will reach Kerala four days late on June 5. Only last week, the India Meteorological Department had informed about the forecast of monsoon. The meteorological forecast generally does not prove to be wrong. But private weather agencies associated with the weather forecast say that the monsoon will reach Kerala ahead of schedule. Today, there are similar chances of rains in Kerala.
