The Supreme Court on Tuesday reserved judgment on the contempt case of Prashant Bhushan. The court said, “Bhushan has freedom of expression, but he does not want to apologize for contempt.” The person must feel a mistake. We gave them time. But he (Prashant Bhushan) says that he will not apologize. “The Supreme Court said why can’t you apologize when someone hurts you.” The court also made it clear that their (court’s) side can be talked only through orders.

Prashant refused to apologize in the Supreme Court.
On Monday, Prashant refused to apologize in the Supreme Court for contempt of courts and judges. Bhushan had said, ‘What I said is a reality. Now it will be wrong if you apologize, either unconditionally or unconditionally. If you apologize to the helpless, then the conscience will be in contempt. Which I respect the most. ‘
In a two-page affidavit, Bhushan said that he made the tweets well and for the betterment of the institution. It is not right to apologize in such a situation. The Supreme Court on August 20 gave Bhushan two days to consider an unconditional apology after a debate on the sentence. He replied to this on Monday.

Another case referred to another bench
The Supreme Court referred Prashant Bhushan’s 2009 contempt case to another bench. The court also said that it is not only a matter of punishment but also a matter of trust in institutions. In an interview to Tehelka magazine 11 years ago, Bhushan made a comment against the judiciary. The matter will now be heard on September 10.
