Amarnath Yatra has been canceled. This decision has been taken due to Corona outbreak. Corona cases are increasing rapidly in the country. An important meeting of the Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) took place today in this regard. Earlier there was speculation that the visit may start after 20 July. It is pertinent to note that the yatra takes place every year on Shravan Purnima, which is this time on 3rd August.

On behalf of the Government of Raj Bhavan, J&K, it was said, ‘On the basis of the circumstances, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board decided that it is not proper to organize and conduct this year’s Shri Amarnathji Yatra and on announcing the cancellation of Yatra 2020 Regretted it. ‘ However, the Amarnath Board will continue to broadcast the lively darshan of morning and evening aarti.

Earlier preparations were going on for the Amarnath Yatra in Jammu. CM Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation had said, ‘Sanitation work is being done in Jammu base camp’ Yatri Niwas’. The date of the visit has not been decided yet. We will follow all the guidelines issued by the government.

Passengers on the target of terrorists

The Indian Army said that the Amarnath Yatra is on the radar of terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed. 9 Rashtriya Rifles Sector Commander, Brigadier V.S. Thakur said that it has been reported that the terrorists are plotting to target the journey somewhere on National Highway 44. We have information that the terrorists will try their best to target the yatra, but we have our own preparations and we will ensure that the yatra is peaceful without any hindrance.
