The rules have been announced by American, Delta, Southwest and United Airlines. The Washington Post reported that under the new rules only children younger than two years would be allowed to fly without masks. Although Delta will allow passengers to travel without face masks, they must undergo a special screening, which will take more than an hour to complete. While US airlines have been given a single hand in deciding their policies regarding masks, in recent weeks they have made masks mandatory for their passengers.

Citing an interview with NBC in ‘Today’, The Washington Post quoted Delta chief executive Ed Bastian that the airline banned flying at least 100 people for refusing to wear masks. Meanwhile, airlines have also said that they will provide free masks to passengers who do not have them. Explain that Johns Hopkins University confirmed that more than 145,000 Americans have died due to COVID-19 so far. The United States has recorded 4,106,247 corona virus cases so far.
