The number of people infected with the corona virus in the country has started increasing rapidly. 125 new cases of infection have been reported in one day, while four people have died. The number of infected across the country has crossed 800. This includes 47 foreign nationals, 17 people who lost their lives due to the virus and 45 who have recovered. According to the Union Health Ministry and the state health departments, the number of people infected with the virus has reached 818 in the country.
Joint Secretary in the Union Health Ministry Luv Agarwal said that 17 people have died due to this virus. Maharashtra has reported the highest number of 28 new cases a day and the number of infected in the state has risen to 153. A doctor has died in Mumbai, admitted to being infected with the corona virus, although an investigation report is yet to come. There are 12 new cases in Sangli district of the state and their number has increased to 24 in the district.
All these people are connected to or came into contact with a family. The family had recently returned from Saudi Arabia and were found to be infected with the virus. Nine people have been found infected in Mumbai. Four people have died in the state so far. In Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala Chief Minister P. Vijayan said after reviewing the situation that the state has received the highest number of 39 cases in a single day and the number of infected has gone up to 164. The new cases include 34 cases in the worst-affected Kasargod district in the state. More than one lakh people have been kept under surveillance in the state.
500 doctors appointed in Tamil Nadu
In Telangana, 10 new cases of infection have been reported and the number has come down to 59. One person in the state has been discharged from hospital after treatment. Six cases have been registered in Tamil Nadu and the number of victims has gone up to 35. In view of the worsening situation, the state government has appointed 500 new doctors.
60-year-old man dies in Tumkuru, Karnataka
A 60-year-old man has died of corona virus in Tumkuru, Karnataka. The man returned from Delhi on March 13 by train. This is the third death from Corona in the state. Earlier, a man has been killed in Kalburgi and a woman in Chikkaballapura. Seven new cases of infection have been found and the number has increased to 62. They also have a 10-month-old baby girl. The condition of the girl is said to be stable.
Wife of Dean of Medical College in Gujarat infected
The investigation report of the wife of the Dean of the Medical College in Gujarat has also come up positive. After this more than 100 people, including Dean and Doctor, have been quarantined. The number of infected in the state has gone up to 44. Of these, 18 people have been victims of local transmission. Of these, 16 had come in contact with people returned from abroad, while two had returned from Jaipur and Delhi. However, no new cases have been reported in the state during the last twenty-four hours.
Andaman-Nicobar virus
Apart from this, seven new cases have been found in Rajasthan and the number of infected has increased to 50. The number of infected has increased to 51 in Uttar Pradesh with eight new cases, 40 in Delhi with one new case and 38 in Punjab with five new cases. There have been four new cases in Madhya Pradesh in the last twenty four hours and the number has gone up to 30. Whereas, four new cases have been reported in Jammu and Kashmir and the number of victims has gone up to 18 and nine have been infected in Bihar with two new cases. This dangerous virus has spread to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and six positive cases have been found there.
