Islamabad, PTI Pakistan on Friday opened its borders with its friend China for a day to supply Chinese medical equipment to fight the rising corona virus outbreak in the country. China on Thursday asked Pakistan to open a border between the two countries for a day on Friday so that medical supplies could be transported to the country to fight the corona virus epidemic. According to Pakistan’s Ministry of Health, the total number of confirmed cases with Sindh province at the top with 429 patients has come to around 1,235.
There are 408 patients in Punjab, the largest province, 147 in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), 131 in Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) 91, 27 in Islamabad and 2 in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). According to government data, 9 patients have died, 23 have recovered and 7 are in critical condition.

According to Dawn, the Chinese embassy said in a letter to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that the governor of China’s Xinjiang Uygar Autonomous Region wants to deliver medical supplies to Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to the letter, the governor said the medical equipment used by doctors and paramedics in China, mainly to fight the virus, would be given to Pakistan. It was reported that these could include 200,000 ordinary face masks, 2,000 N-95 face masks, five ventilators, 2,000 test kits and 2,000 medical protective clothing to Pakistan. It was told that all this stuff is going to be received after the request made by GB Chief Minister Hafizur Rahman to the Governor of Xinjiang region to deal with the corona virus in the province.
