The US Food and Drug Administration has identified hydroxychloroquine as a potential treatment for Kovid-19 and has been screened in more than 1,500 patients in New York. Trump has purchased more than thirty million tablets of hydroxychloroquine due to its potential to be effective in treating the corona virus. In a phone conversation last week, Trump requested Prime Minister Modi to send the medicine used for the treatment of malaria. India is the main producer of this drug. India had banned its exports, which was removed on Tuesday.

India agreed on Monday to lift the ban to export hydroxychloroquine to the US. Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani had said on Tuesday that three companies of the state would export these drugs to the US. Indian-Americans have welcomed the decision. Significantly, the number of patients infected with the corona virus (COVID-19) has reached 1.5 million worldwide.
