Badshah has been summoned by Mumbai Police to record his statement in the fake social media scam. Now Bollywood’s top actresses like Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra are also likely to be called by the SIT. The list of Bollywood artists to buy fake followers includes Deepipika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra in the top 10. Last month, the Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU) busted a racket in which fake followers, re-tweets, likes and other things were being bought by celebrities in violation of the Information Technology Act, with the help of social media experts The investigation into the matter was initiated by the CIU.

The racket has come to light after a Bollywood singer Bhumi Trivedi filed a complaint against a thug who said that he manages their social media accounts. According to recent development, the rapper Badshah has been summoned by the Mumbai Police to record his statement regarding the fake social media scam.

According to the latest report, the king’s Instagram account known as @badboyshah has been investigated by the Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU). He was then asked to appear for investigation on 3 August but failed to do so. He has now been asked to appear before CIU officials again on 6 August. The same report also suggests that top Bollywood actresses like Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra may also be called by the SIT to record their statements regarding fake social media activity.

The SIT has identified 68 of the nearly 100 companies selling fake social media followers, which are involved in selling fake followers and social media activities such as retweets, likes, views, subscriptions and comments. Talking about the racket, Mumbai Joint Commissioner of Police Vinay Kumar Choubey had said, ‘We have investigated 54 companies involved in this racket. The SIT involved in the crime branch along with the cyber cell has been formed which will help in the investigation of the case.
