Microsoft has announced that by the beginning of the year 2021 it is going to close Internet Explorer 11 and Edge Browser. That is, in 2021, Microsoft will not support both these services. Simply put, users will not be able to use Microsoft services such as Outlook, OneDrive and Office 365 on Internet Explorer 11.
Although no major reason for this decision taken by Microsoft has been revealed yet, it is so clear that after this technically Microsoft will not be able to un-install the browser from the device, but any new update from the company Will not be released. Malware and viruses can easily attack the device through your old browser as soon as Internet Explorer 11 and Edge Browser are closed.
According to the information revealed, Microsoft will start the process of shutting down Internet Explorer 11 from November 30, 2020 this year. After this, Microsoft 365 apps and services will be closed from August 17, 2021. Edge Browser will also close in March 2021. After March 9, 2021, the Microsoft Edge Legacy desktop app will no longer receive new security updates. Microsoft says that apps and sites built for Microsoft Edge Legacy will continue to work in the new Microsoft Edge.
When Microsoft stops supporting these browsers completely, it can be a problem for those whose business is currently based solely on Internet Explorer. Microsoft has given relief to such users and said that such customers will be able to continue using it even further. But they will not get any updates. Similarly, security updates will not be available in Microsoft Edge browser from 9 March 2021.
