New Delhi, Agencies. A program of Tablighi Jamaat in the Nizamuddin area of Delhi has led to an explosive situation of corona virus infection in the country. There have been 224 new cases across the country, which is the largest number of new cases in a day. With this, the number of infected has crossed 15 hundred. Some states of South India have the highest number of infected cases and most of them are those who participated in this program. There have also been 72 new cases of sudden infection in Maharashtra, the highest ever in a single day. One person died on Tuesday in Punjab. This is the fourth death in the state from Corona.
72 new cases have been reported in Maharashtra, the number of infected in the state crosses three hundred
According to the Union Health Ministry and the state health departments, the number of infected people in the country has so far reached 1,545. These include 49 foreigners, 39 people who lost their lives due to infection and 126 fully recovered people. The number of infected in Maharashtra has increased to 302. Of the 72 new cases, Mumbai alone has 59. Apart from this, three cases were registered in Ahmednagar while two each in Pune, Thane, Vasai, Virar and Kalyan-Dombivali.
57 new cases in Tamil Nadu and 17 in Andhra Pradesh mostly related to Jamaat
Tamil Nadu has the highest number of new cases due to the Tablighi Jamaat. There have been 57 new cases in the state and most of them are those who had participated in the Delhi program. The number of infected in the state has increased to 124. About one and a half thousand people of the state participated in the program of Tablighi Jamaat, of which more than eleven hundred have returned. Eight hundred of these people have been traced and placed in quarantines. The chief secretary of the state said that the spread of corona can be stopped only after these people are separated.
The program has also had a widespread impact in Andhra Pradesh. 17 new cases have been found in the state, out of which 14 are those who participated in the Delhi program. The number of infected in the states has gone up to 40. Eight cases have been found in Prakasam district alone.
Number of new cases reduced in Kerala
Seven new cases have been found in Karnataka and the number of infected has risen to 98. Seven new cases have also been reported in Kerala. This number is less as compared to previous days. The number of infected has increased to 241. 1.63 lakh people have been kept under surveillance in the state. Seven new cases have been reported in Telangana and 77 have been infected. Three new cases have been reported in Gujarat. Here the figure of infected has reached 73.
Cases increase in Madhya Pradesh-Rajasthan
There are 19 new cases in Madhya Pradesh and the number has risen to 66. 14 new cases have been reported in Rajasthan and 93 have become infected. Six new cases have been found in Bihar and the number has increased to 21. Five new cases have also been reported in Bengal and the number of infected has gone up to 27.
First case came out in Jharkhand
Jharkhand was still left with the corona virus, but a case has also surfaced there. The investigation report of a person in Ranchi has come back positive. With six new cases, 55 have been infected in Jammu and Kashmir. Seven new cases have been reported in Uttar Pradesh and a total of 104 have been infected. Four new cases have been found in Haryana and 29 have been infected. A new case has been found in Chhattisgarh and the number of infected has increased to nine.
