CAT Exam 2020
The candidates going to take CAT Exam 2020 CAT 2020 examination should note that the examination will be conducted on the scheduled date in three shifts which will start at 8.30 am and 12.30 pm and 4.30 pm.

The Common Admission Test i.e. CAT or CAT 2020 is conducted this Sunday as per the selection process prescribed for admission to PG Courses in Management in 20 Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and other colleges located in different states across the country, will be done on 29 November. In view of the necessary instructions regarding the conduct of entrance examination and the necessary precautions in view of the covid-19 epidemic, the notice has already been issued by the examination organizer institute. The candidates going to take CAT 2020 examination should note that the examination will be conducted in three shifts on the scheduled date, which will start at 8.30 am, 12.30 pm and 4.30 pm. Among the preparations for the exam, let us know 10 important points related to CAT 2020 exam format: –

  1. English will be the medium of CAT 2020 exam.
  2. As per the CAT 2020 notification, candidates will have to use the correct option of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) from a computer mouse during the online examination. Using a computer keyboard will lock the system.
  3. Most of the questions in the exam will be MCQs, although some will be non-MCQs.
  4. For non-MCQ questions, the candidates have to use the virtual keyboard given on the screen.
  5. There will also be negative marking in the exam. One mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
  6. Candidates will be able to use virtual calculator.
  7. PWD category candidates will be given additional time of 13 minutes and 20 seconds per section.
  8. Candidates will have to use ‘Save and Next’, Clear Response and Mark for Preview options at the time of answering.
  9. The status of questions assigned by the candidate will be displayed in the panel on the right side of the screen.
  10. At the end of CAT 2020 exam, the candidates will have to submit the Rough-sheet used during the exam to the CAT Investigator.

CAT Exam 2020 Guidelines: know which things will be allowed and which will be banned.

Candidates should keep in mind that they need the most confidence right now. Especially on the exam day, they will need to keep their mind calm, so that they do not make small mistakes, for which they have to pay a huge price. Preparing for the exam day does not mean that candidates should be hundred percent ready to solve any kind of question. Exam preparation also includes getting information about all the rules and guidelines at the examination center. Let us know what the candidates will be allowed for CAT 2020 and which are not.

Candidates will need to bring these with them

Admit Card: CAT Admit Card is the most important document to take to the examination center. No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall without the admit card of CAT 2020.

Identity Card: At the examination center, candidates will be required to carry a valid identity card containing a photograph.

Name Change Document: In cases where the candidate’s name has been changed due to any event (eg marriage, legal name change, divorce), in this case a document related to the name change will need to be brought.

Medical Certificate: Candidates belonging to PWD category will have to carry a medical certificate related to disability.

Items related to Kovid-19: Candidates will need to carry self-declaration card issued with CAT admit card on the day of examination. They will be allowed to carry water with them in hand sanitizer, face mask, transplant bottle.

Explain that the candidates will not be allowed to carry any other items within the CAT 2020 Examination Center, except as given above. However, candidates coming from far away should carry water bottles and food items with them and arrive at the examination center early to find a place to keep their belongings safe.

These things will not be allowed at the examination center

Candidates will not be allowed to bring bags, purses, pencil boxes, beepers, wristwatches, calculators, mobile phones, electronic devices, scanners, cameras and wireless / Bluetooth devices etc. at the examination center. A candidate found with any of these items inside the examination hall will be disqualified. Also, candidates will not be allowed to wear metal jewellery. Shoes, jackets with pockets and clothes are also not allowed inside the examination hall. For the metal implant, pacemaker etc. in the body of the candidates, it will be necessary to bring a medical certificate related to it at the examination center.

CAT 2020 Covid-19 Guidelines: Candidate must be followed, read the details

Candidates appearing in the Common Admission Test 2020 will have to maintain social distancing from admission to the examination center till the exit from the center after the examination is over. The candidates have to bring their facemask, hand globs, hand sanitizer (50 ml) and transparent water bottle. They will definitely have to carry two ball pens and test related documents (admit card, ID card) with them. No other items will be allowed inside the examination center. Before entering the examination center, all the candidates will be subjected to thermal gun with body temperature check. Candidates with fever, cough and cold symptoms will be arranged to sit in separate rooms with adequate security measures.

The candidates have to take care that they have to follow all the instructions given by the representatives of CAT test center during the entrance and exit of the examination center. At the registration desk, candidates will have to clean their hands with a sanitizer. The candidates will be under CCTV surveillance from start to finish of the exam. Candidates will be admitted to the examination center only as per the scheduled time. Explain that the candidates will get admission in the examination center as per the time indicated in their admit card or through the SMS on their registered mobile number before the exam date.
