New Delhi . Coronavirus LockDown Day 9: The number of corona virus infected patients is steadily increasing in Delhi-NCR. In this episode, doctors are also vulnerable to corona virus infection. The latest case is of the All India Institute of Medical Science, a renowned hospital in the country. A resident doctor from the Physiology Department of AIIMS has also been hit by the corona virus. He lives in Hauz Rani Malviya Nagar and for the last few days he was commuting from home to office in Delhi Transport Corporation bus.
Shift will be done in hospital for Covid-19
The corona virus-infected doctor is currently admitted to the new private ward of AIIMS. After some time he will be shifted to the Trauma Center, which was dedicated to Corona a few days ago. Only patients infected with corona will be treated in the transformed trauma center at Covid-19 Hospital.
The doctor’s family is also being monitored
Those whom he has come in contact with, with the family of a doctor infected with the corona virus, are also being monitored. Each family member has been asked for quarantine, along with medical examination of all those who were in contact with the doctor.
How did this resident doctor of AIIMS get corona virus infection? It is not yet clear. His contact history is also being investigated. Doctors of the Department of Physiology do not treat patients, so coming in contact with a patient, they are being denied the infection.
Doctors used to come in DTC bus
It is being told that the doctors caught in the corona virus infection were coming to the hospital from home for the last few days only through the bus of Delhi Transport Corporation. In such a situation, the doctors and nursing staff accompanying them on the bus can also be examined and all can be asked for quarantine at the earliest.
7 doctors in total vulnerable to Corona
On Thursday, including the resident of AIIMS, a total of 7 doctors in the capital Delhi have been caught by the Corona virus so far. Actually, a resident doctor working at Sardar Patel Hospital has also been confirmed to be corona. His report came back positive on Tuesday. His wife is employed in Safdarjung Hospital, he is also suffering from Corona. Both of these are being treated in Safdarjung Hospital. They have recently returned from Dubai. Earlier, two doctors of Mohalla Clinic were also infected. Apart from this, a private doctor in Maujpur is also suffering. Thus far, seven doctors have suffered from corona.
