Islamabad, ANI. The ban on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border is going to be lifted to stop the spread of the corona virus. The borders between the two countries will be opened for four days. The decision has been taken to repatriate Afghan civilians stranded in Pakistan due to the lockdown. Sima was closed a few weeks ago in the wake of the Corona virus crisis.

Pakistan said that it will open the Torkham and Chaman border crossing for the next four days from today, so that Afghan civilians trapped in the country can return to their country due to the border closure. A spokesman for Pakistan’s Foreign Office said in a statement that the move has been taken for the specific request of the Afghan government based on humanitarian considerations and for the convenience of Afghan citizens.

The government has also decided that Pakistanis returning from Afghanistan will be housed in quarantine centers set up near the Pakistan-Iran border in Chaman. At the same time, the Afghan government has built a quarantine center in the border town of Spin Boldak, where Afghan citizens will be housed.

Zakullah Durani, a senior official of the Chaman administration in Pakistan, told the newspaper that we have the capacity to quarantine 900 people at a time. Each tent has a washroom, food and other facilities.

In Pakistan, 50 people have died due to Corona virus, while 3,278 people have been infected with Corona virus till Monday. At the same time, Afghanistan’s Ministry of Health has reported 30 new cases of corona virus on Monday, raising the national level of infection to 367 and the death toll has risen to at least seven.

At the same time, according to Pakistan’s Health Ministry, Punjab and Sindh are the most affected by the corona virus. The number of people infected with the virus in Punjab has increased to 1,493. Subsequently, 881 people in Sindh are infected with corona. 405 positive cases have been reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. 191 cases have been registered in Balochistan, 210 cases in Gilgit-Baltistan, 82 cases in the capital Islamabad and 15 cases in Pauke. So far 50 people have died in Pakistan due to this epidemic.
