In the US, Facebook and Twitter are trying to stop the propaganda amid the growing threat of foreign interference in the US Presidential Election on November 3. Both these social media platforms have announced several measures.
Facebook on Thursday announced such centers from which American voters will be able to easily get accurate information about the election. While Twitter has tightened its rules to curb the spread of false news about voting via mail.

Facebook was accused in 2016
These steps have been announced at a time when these social media platforms have come under criticism for their attitude in curbing false news. They were accused of being the medium of spreading false news in the 2016 presidential election.
“We are focused on empowering every voter with new policies,” said Jessica Harera Fleunigan, Vice President of Twitter. Meanwhile, Facebook launched the Voting Information Center. Naomi Gleight, vice president of this social media platform, said, ‘The voting information center will be available on Facebook and Instagram. It is very important that we are helping to maintain the sanctity of our elections.

Chinese app tiktok can interfere in US elections
On the other hand, during the last week of July, top Republican lawmakers raised concerns about the role of the Chinese social media app Ticketop in the election. He had expressed fears that China could influence the election using this app. Recently, US intelligence agencies also issued warnings that China, Russia and Iran could interfere in the election.
