Chandigarh, Captain Amarinder Singh government of Punjab has extended curfew period by 15 days in view of the situation arising out of kerona in the state. Now curfew will continue till 15 April in Punjab. The state cabinet took this decision on Monday evening. Along with this, examinations in the state have also been postponed indefinitely.
The Chief Minister held video conferencing meetings with six ministers. It was decided in this meeting that curfew duration should be increased by 15 days in the state. It was decided that the curfew would continue in the state from 1 to 15 April. Let us know that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had recently announced a 21-day lock down in the entire country.
This lock down will last until 14 April. The Punjab government had earlier imposed curfew in the entire state from 23 March to 31 March. Please tell that 38 positive cases of corona virus have been reported in Punjab so far. Two of these patients died. In addition, eight patients in Chandigarh have been confirmed to be infected with the corona virus.
8th, 10th and 12th grade board examinations postponed indefinitely
On the other hand, in view of the outbreak of Corona virus, the Education Department has postponed the 8th, 10th and 12th grade board examinations indefinitely. Earlier, these exams were to be held from April 1. Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla said that the education department has also stopped the recruitment process of teachers till April 15. Under this recruitment process, posts of teachers of border cadre Hindi, Punjabi, Mathematics, Social Studies, English and Science subjects were to be filled.
The Education Minister said that the board examinations of 8th, 10th and 12th classes, which were to be held from April 1, have been deferred till further orders. He said that earlier the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) had earlier delayed the examinations till March 31, but some practical eighth and twelfth-grade theory exams were to be held from April 1. He said that these examinations have been deferred due to the lockdown in the country in view of Corona virus disease.
He said that apart from 8th and 12th standard, some of the Theory exams of 10th standard starting from 3rd April have also been deferred with immediate effect. The cabinet minister said that the revised datasheet for these exams will be released soon after the situation becomes common. Similarly, the education department has banned the recruitment of teachers till April 15, 2020.
