Meanwhile, Governor Andrew Cuomo, addressing reporters on Friday, said that the curve of death continues to move upwards. Cuomo said the death toll in the state has now reached 2,935. The number of 562 deaths has increased in just one day.

Corona virus cases now reach 102,863

The number of confirmed corona virus cases in the state has now reached 102,863. This is half of the total corona infected patients in the US. The number of all COVID-19 infected patients in the US has reached 277,953. There are 56,289 corona virus patients in New York City alone. Kyomo said that the number of deaths in the state has increased the most.

More than 7,000 people died of corona in America

According to Johns Hopkins University’s Corona Virus Resource Center, more than 7,000 people have died of corona in the US. 1,867 people have died in New York City alone. According to The New York Times, more people have died in New York in the past 24 hours than the Corona virus, compared to the first 27 days of March. The death toll in the state has almost doubled in the last three days.

Acute shortage of medical equipment required for doctors

The governor also expressed anger over the lack of medical equipment required for doctors. She said personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks, gowns and face shields are heavily lacking in New York. He said that companies are needed to make these materials. Cuomo claimed there is a severe shortage of state ventilators. He warns that the state has about six days of ventilators in its stockpile. He is doing everything possible to increase supply.

Permission to redistribute ventilators and equipment from private sector companies

He signed an executive order allowing the state to redistribute ventilators and personal protective equipment from hospitals, private sector companies and institutions. He said that we are talking to the federal government. The governor said, but I do not believe that the federal reserves have enough (ventilators) to help all states.
