New Delhi The Indian Railways on Thursday denied all media reports claiming that it has been decided to resume operations from April 15 after the end of 21 days of nationwide lockdown.

In a statement, the Railways said that the Railway Ministry has not yet issued any protocol for running trains nor passengers for Lockstown, as stated in the media report. It states that it is premature to speculate about the criteria to resume passenger services at such a time.

The statement said that keeping in mind the interests of all the stake holders including railway passengers, which will be better for everyone and will take a decision there. He said that all concerned are requested to ignore the rumors or misleading news being shown by some sections of the media. Railways said that when a decision is taken in this regard, all concerned will be informed about it.

In fact, the Indian Railways’ comment came after some news reports claimed that the train services would start after the lockdown. It said that the Indian Railways has prepared a plan to resume train services after April 14. There will be thermal screening of passengers before entering the railway station, passengers will have to come to the station 4 hours before the train runs.

Explain that Indian Railways has suspended passenger, mail and express train services from 24 March to 14 April to deal with the spread of corona virus. Special freight and special parcel trains are operational to ensure supply of essential commodities across the country. Railways have also prepared time tables for special parcel trains for speedy delivery of all essential items.

Explain that due to Corona virus, the government has implemented a lockdown across the country till 14 April. Actually corona virus is spread from one infected person to another. Therefore, it is important that people maintain social distancing. Currently all states have closed their borders. In view of this, Railways also suspended their train services till 14 April.
