Bad news is coming out from the Bollywood film industry once again. After veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, his younger brother Rajiv Kapoor has now passed away. 58-year-old Rajiv Kapoor has died due to heart attack. His death is a wave of mourning not only for his family but also the entire film industry. Rajeev Kapoor’s death after Rishi Kapoor is a major setback for the Kapoor family.

Actor Rajiv Kapoor had a heart attack on Tuesday. His elder brother Randhir Kapoor immediately rushed him to the hospital, but by then it was too late. The doctors at the hospital declared Rajiv Kapoor dead. Confirming the death of younger brother Rajiv, Randhir Kapoor said, “I have lost my younger brother.” Rajiv has passed away. Doctors have tried everything on their part, but they could not save them. Apart from Randhir Kapoor, Neetu Singh also expressed grief while sharing a picture of Rajiv on social media.
Rajiv Kapoor is still remembered for his superhit film ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’. His performance in this film was well received by the audience. Actress Mandakini played the lead role in this film with her. Apart from this, he also worked in ‘Ek Jaan Hain Hum’, 1984 film ‘Aakash’, ‘Lover Boy’, ‘Jitiya’ and ‘Hum To Chale Pardes’. The last time he appeared in the film Responsible in 1990. Rajiv directed the film ‘Prem Granth’. In this film, his brother Rishi Kapoor was in the lead role.

Biography

Born to Bollywood legend Raj Kapoor and wife Krishna Kapoor on August 25, 1962, Rajiv Kapoor made his acting debut with 1983 movie Ek Jaan Hain Hum. He gained recognition with his father’s last directorial Ram Teri Ganga Maili (1985). Some of his other memorable films include Aasmaan (1984), Lover Boy (1985), Zabardast (1985) and Hum To Chale Pardes (1988). But soon Rajiv, also addressed as Chimpu, moved to film direction and production.

In 1996, Rajiv directed Prem Granth which featured his elder brother Rishi Kapoor in the lead role along with Madhuri Dixit. He ventured into production with brother Randhir Kapoor’s directorial Henna in 1991 and also produced Aa Ab Laut Chalen (1999). But after this, Rajiv took a break from Bollywood, and it was only last year that his comeback to the movies was announced.

The actor was set to make a return to movies after 28 years with Ashutosh Gowariker’s Toolsidas Junior. The film was announced in December 2020 with Sanjay Dutt in the lead role.
