New Delhi. The spread of corona virus in the country does not seem to stop. The number of infected is continuously increasing. On Thursday, the number of infected in the country reached 2543, with a total of 342 new cases in different states. The death toll stands at 73 with 14 deaths. So far 174 people have fully recovered from it. The worrying situation in this case is that so far more than 50 health workers in the country have been infected. In some places, there have also been cases of attack on doctors and other health workers. On Thursday, health workers and police officers who came to collect samples in Munger, Bihar, were attacked by the mob. A similar incident of attack on ASHA workers came to light in Bengaluru on Wednesday.
Confirmation of continuous virus among people involved in Tablighi Markaz
Persistent infection is being confirmed among people who have joined the Markaz of Tablighi Jamaat in Nizamuddin area of Delhi. This has increased the concern of the administration. People are being identified across the country who have participated in or have come in contact with the participants. So far around 9,000 such people have been quarantined in the country. On Thursday, 75 cases were found positive in Tamil Nadu, out of which 74 people were those who had returned after participating in Markaz. So far, 264 positive people have been found in the state who took part in Markaj. The total number of infected in Tamil Nadu has reached 309.
32 new cases in Andhra Pradesh and 21 in Kerala
On Thursday, 32 new cases were reported in Andhra Pradesh. The total number of infected here has been 143. All the new cases found positive here belong to people involved in the Tablighi Jamaat’s mark. 91 people who joined Markaz from Andhra Pradesh have been found positive, this is equivalent to 16 percent of those who joined Markaz. Since the beginning of March, 1873 people have been investigated in the state, out of which 1321 reports have been negative. On Thursday, 21 new cases were reported in Kerala. The total number of infected here has reached 286. More than one and a half lakh people are under surveillance in the state.
Figure exceeds 400 in Maharashtra
In Maharashtra, the total number of infected has reached 416 with 81 new cases on Thursday. So far 19 people in the state have lost their lives due to corona. Two people died on Thursday. Of the newly arrived cases in the state, 57 are from Mumbai. So far 42 people have been cured in Maharashtra. The state government has earmarked 30 government hospitals for complete treatment of corona in view of increasing cases of infection. There are 2305 beds available in these hospitals.
