Coronavirus In Kids: The highest risk of spreading corona infection
Coronavirus In Kids: Corona virus cases are increasing rapidly even after 10 months worldwide. Meanwhile, constant research is being done to know more and more about Corona. A similar research has been done on the effect of corona on young children. It is believed that the amount of young children exposed to this dangerous virus is very less. According to the WHO, the effect of Covid-19 on child mortality appears to be “very limited”. Research available so far suggests that the corona virus may reduce the risk of disease in children and adolescents compared to adults and adults.
Is corona virus spreading from children?
A new study has found that 10 to 100 times more genetic material of the corona virus has been found in the nose of children under five than adults. This pioneering research has been published in the journal JAMA Pediatrics and sheds light on the fact that young children may be the drivers of transmission of the corona virus inside homes and communities.
How did research happen
For this study, researchers in 145 patients in Chicago took nasal swabs within a week of symptom onset. The patients had mild to moderate symptoms of the disease. Out of 145 patients, 46 were children who were less than 5 years old, 51 children were between 5 and 17 and 48 were adults who were between 18 and 65 years old.
What proved in research
By reading the nose samples of Chicago patients, it was revealed that children under the age of 5 were found to have 10 to 100 times the amount of SARS-CoV-2 war. In a previous study, it was reported that children with high viral load of respiratory viral virus (RSV) are more likely to spread the disease. RSV is thought to cause respiratory tract infections in humans. However, earlier reports did not consider children to be major contributors to circulating SARS-CoV-2. It is also clear from this study that as soon as the corona vaccine arrives, it will be right to make it available to children as soon as possible.
