Deepavali (Diwali) festival is celebrated on the new moon day of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month. It is believed that on this date, Lord Shri Ram came back to Ayodhya after killing 14 years of exile and King Ravana of Lanka. In whose joy all the residents of Ayodhya lit lamps in preparation for the reception for their King Lord Shri Ram. Then every year, the festival of Deepawali is celebrated. Apart from this, it is also a mythological belief that Goddess Lakshmi was revealed during the churning of the sea on the Amavasya date of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month.
