New Delhi. The number of corona virus victims in the country has crossed five thousand. According to data shared by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, so far 410 people have been cured of the disease. On Wednesday, 773 cases were reported in the last 24 hours while 32 people died. With this, the figure of infected has reached 5,274. Eight people have also died in Maharashtra and one in Karnataka, and together, the death toll has risen to 149.

773 new cases

In his regular press conference at 4 pm on Wednesday evening, Joint Secretary of the Union Ministry of Health, Luv Aggarwal said that 32 people died and 773 new cases were reported between the last 24 hours i.e. Monday morning to Tuesday 9 am. However, in the data released by the Health Ministry at five o’clock in the evening, the number of deaths in a day was given 25, new cases 485 and total infected 5,274. Officials say that there is a difference in the data released by the states and the Union Ministry of Health due to late receipt of data from the states.

Worrying conditions in Maharashtra

The state of Maharashtra remains the most worrying factor in the country. Corona outbreaks are also increasing in Dharavi, Central Mumbai, which is considered Asia’s largest slum. So far 13 people have been found infected in this colony. If we talk about the whole of Maharashtra, 117 new cases were reported on Wednesday and the number of infected reached 1135. Of the new cases, Mumbai alone has 72 cases, while Pune has 36 cases. With the death of eight people, the death toll in the state has risen to 72.

Status of Andhra, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka

In Telangana also 49 new cases have been found and the number of victims has reached 453. There are 15 new cases in Andhra Pradesh and the number of infected has reached 329. Nine cases have been reported in Kerala and 345 have been infected, while in Karnataka six new cases have been reported and the number of victims has reached 181. Tamil Nadu has reported 48 new cases and the number of infected has reached 738. Tamil Nadu is the most infected after Maharashtra.

Data reached here in UP, MP, Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan

There have been 33 positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir and the number of infected has increased to 158. Similarly, 106 have been infected with six new cases in Punjab. Whereas, 11 new cases have been reported in Haryana and the number of infected has increased to 141. Two new cases have also been reported in Uttarakhand and a total of 33 have been infected. Seven new cases have also been reported in Uttar Pradesh and the number of victims has been 343. Two new cases have been found in Bengal and the figure has reached 71. A total of 346 are infected in Madhya Pradesh with 19 new cases. Whereas, 21 new cases have also been reported in Rajasthan and the number of infected has reached 364.

1,21,271 people investigated so far

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 1,21,271 people have been screened in the country so far. On Tuesday, 13,345 tests were conducted in a single day, of which 2,267 were conducted in private labs. Under ICMR, 139 labs are operated, while 65 private labs have also been allowed to conduct tests. The ICMR has also asked all government and private medical colleges to apply for a license to establish a corona screening facility.
