New Delhi The Home Ministry has issued a clarification regarding the exempted services during the nationwide lockdown. The ministry says that as per the guidelines issued earlier, attendants engaged in the service of senior citizens living in homes are allowed to work. Prepaid mobile recharge shops, bread factories and flour mills have also been allowed to operate. The sale of electronic fans and school books is also allowed.

The Ministry of Home Affairs said that a fresh note is being issued after looking at the questions related to the relaxation of services and activities under the guidelines issued so far. In the information given to the Chief Secretaries of all the states, the ministry said that during the lockdown in urban areas, food processing units like bread factory, milk processing units, flour, and pulses mills, etc. are allowed to operate. Research centers related to agriculture and horticulture, testing centers for seeds and horticultural products can also work. It is also permitted to carry beehive, honey, and other such products within the state or from one state to another.

The Ministry of Home Affairs gave information clarifying the earlier guidelines

The ministry said that there should be no confusion at the lower level, so district officials and field agencies should be informed in this regard. The Ministry has also issued Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for activities at ports.

The Ministry made it clear that negligence in compliance of the provisions related to physical distancing during work in any office, factory or institute would not be acceptable. The government has also fully approved agriculture and allied activities. These include the harvesting of crops, sowing and procurement, etc. Some industries have also been permitted to operate in the Green Zone, following compliance with physical distancing and other standards of safety.

Activities in the Red Zone and Orange Zone are not exempted. Lockdown will be strictly followed there. Where there are more cases of infection, they are kept in the red zone. Controlled case areas are placed in the Orange zone and infection-free zones are in the Green Zone. Pubs, cinema halls, bars, malls, gyms, etc. and all educational institutions will remain closed everywhere.
