On August 13, 1992, an event was organized by the Left Handers Club for the first time, with the aim of celebrating this unique quality inside left handers as well as to make people aware of its advantages and disadvantages. It was first celebrated in 1976 by Dean R Campbell. After which this day began to be celebrated worldwide.

Purpose of celebrating this day
– The first objective of celebrating this day is to make people worldwide aware that left handers are not separate from right handers in any sense. They can do all their work with the same ease as right handers.
– Left handers constitute 7-10 percent of the total population of the world. Despite this, left handers have to suffer many kinds of criticism.
