Rome, Agency. The national lockdown deadline to prevent the spread of corona virus in Italy is near. In such a situation, both the concerns and challenges of the government are increasing. A new debate has started in the country regarding the lockdown deadline. However, experts have asked the government to extend the lockdown deadline. Meanwhile, the Department of Civil Defense has released the latest figures on the number and deaths of corona infects in Italy, which are shocking. 60 million people in lockdown

Earlier this month, Prime Minister Giuseppe Cote announced that the entire country of some 60 million people would remain in lockdown until April 3 to stop the spread of coronaires, Xinhua reported. The head of the Department of Civil Protection, Angelo Borelli, responded to a question on television by reporters that there were 3,651 new cases of Corona infection on Saturday compared to Friday. Of those infected, 26,676 are hospitalized and 3,856 are in intensive care.

Scientists and leaders of lockdown

1- On Saturday, Italian chief Roberto Barioni wrote on Facebook that the situation in the country is very critical at this time. In such a situation, the idea that nationwide lockdown is no longer viable is not correct. He said that we should stay at home or else the sacrifice we made would be in vain.

2- Fabrizio Pregliasco, a research fellow at Milan University’s Department of Biomedical Sciences for Health, said that at least we have to wait until the end of April to deal with the corona virus. Preglisco said social isolation is by far the most effective weapon to deal with the virus. There is no other way to deal with it.

3- Italy’s Interior Minister Luciana Lamorgesi said that if we look at Saturday’s figures, I think the April 3 deadline to end the lockdown would be a hasty decision. Economic Development Minister Stefano Petraselli said in an interview to RAI News 24 that the April 3 deadline would probably be extended. He said that we are looking at the situation. Therefore decisions will be made when the situation is calmed in relation to the number of deaths and infections.

Concern over food and logistics supplies

With this, concerns have been expressed over the supply of food and logistics due to the sealing of borders in Italy and the complete closure of domestic transport. On Saturday, the National Association of Farmers (Coldaretti) warned that prices of basic foods such as grains and rice were rising, while the virus disrupted supply chains around the world.
